Industry Insight Developments in the TV glass sector of zircon consumption. Over the past decade the TV glass sector has been a small but important end-use market for zircon sand, accounting for 7-8% of global zircon offtake. However, since 2002 the consumption of zircon in this market has begun to decline due to competition from new technologies and trend towards the use of cheaper constituents. In this article, TZMI examines some of the developments in this sector that have emerged as part of the new research for TZMI’s new publication scheduled to be released this month, entitled The Global Zircon Industry: New era – new dynamics.
Meeting Report- International Titanium Association Conference 2005. The 21st annual International Titanium Association conference was held in Scottsdale Arizona from 25-27 September. The conference was divided into several panels covering aspects of the titanium metal industry.
