Most adhesive applications in this segment are non-structural bonding operations and include such items as carpet bonding, instrument panel systems, seat upholstery, side panel covering, interior mirrors, steering wheel and door trim, headliners and various other miscellaneous applications. Also included in this market segment are the adhesives used for acoustical control items. This includes the adhesive bonded baffle assemblies, the preformed roof bow strips, and the pressure sensitive dampening. However, it does exclude the various noise control sealants, the pumpable expanding elastomers and the foam-in-place urethanes. Also excluded are the thermoplastic floor pan dampeners. These materials would more than double the size of this market segment if they were included. Flocking cements used to produce the automotive flocked fabric upholstery are also excluded. These latter adhesives are found in Flocking Cement Adhesives (5.08xEA).
