Dr. Jürgen Wegner

Dr. Jürgen Wegner's expertise in global adhesives and coating technologies spanned 30+  years of experience in the chemical industry with special focus on adhesives, sealants, coatings, wood preservatives, and construction chemicals.  For all his professional career having been with HENKEL at its headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, Dr. Wegner spent most of his time in R&D of adhesives, sealants and coatings, including Application Technology of these product categories.  He also gathered deep insight in marketing and sales of adhesives, coatings and auxiliary products as head of a respective business unit with pan-European responsibility for a EUR 150 MM business.  Through active work in the board or as president of several national and European organizations like FEICA, IVK, IGI and Deutsche Bauchemie (German Construction Chemicals Association), Dr. Wegner knows the European scene for adhesives, sealants and coatings very well, and is well known to the industry. His knowledge spans global business perspective, strategic technology planning and general business management. Since retirement from HENKEL in 2003 as the Global Vice President of Adhesives Technology, Dr. Wegner joined ChemQuest as one of its European consultants in Düsseldorf, Germany, and currently acts as the director of ChemQuest Europe.  Dr. Wegner holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Munich Technical University .  He spent a year as Post-doc at Clarkson University in NY State, and attended several management courses at INSEAD Business School in France.
