Dr. Hubertus von Voithenberg
Vice President, ChemQuest Europe Dr. Hubertus von
Voithenberg joined ChemQuest in 2008 as Vice President, with his office
located in Hamburg, Germany, after retiring as Executive Vice President R&D,
Quality Management and Patents from tesa AG, Beiersdorf Hamburg. With
tesa, Europe's leading producer of pressure sensitive tapes, he spent 17 of more
than 30 years of his professional career in the Chemical
Industry with special emphasis on adhesives, sealants and coatings. Prior
to tesa, Hubertus held R&D management positions at Teroson, Heidelberg
(Corporate VP R&D Europe) and Bostik, Oberursel mainly in the field of
adhesives, sealants and coatings.
Besides his strong technical background in a vast variety of
different polymer technologies including polymerization techniques (especially
acrylics and polyurethanes), Hubertus has a strong market background in the
Automotive, Electronics, Paper/Print business segments as well as the
Construction and Insulation Glass Industries. As General Manager of tesa's
Label affiliate he was responsible for sales, marketing, R&D and production.
Hubertus has profound management skills in innovation
management and organizational development of large international R&D units,
including Scale UP plants, patent and quality management functions. Part
of his background comprises also strategic assessment of technologies and
product groups with marketing business units on a global basis.
Hubertus is well known within the international adhesive
industry due to his longtime membership on the boards and committees of national
and international organizations like IVK, AFERA and FEICA.
Hubertus holds degrees from the University of
Konstanz, Germany (PhD in Organic Chemistry) and from the University of Würzburg,
Germany (Diploma in Polymer Chemistry). He spent one year as Postdoctoral
Fellow at the University of Athens, Georgia and participated in many
international Management Development Programs, e.g. at IMD, Switzerland and
Stanford University, California.
