Robert (Bob) Smith joined ChemQuest in 1999 with 27 years experience with a business management, marketing and technical background in the Adhesives, Sealants and Coatings Industries (Industrial, Automotive Aftermarket, Consumer and OEM).  Prior to joining ChemQuest, he served as Business Manager and New Business Development Manager of Ashland Chemical's Specialty Polymers & Adhesives Division.

His background includes acrylics, anaerobics, structural polyurethanes, pressure sensitives, cyanoacrylates, contact adhesives, epoxies, container sealants and others. His polymer background is in rheology, anaerobic compositions, rubber and PVC. 

Bob's capabilities include strong general marketing management, product development, brand management, sales management and technical skills. He has extensive experience in manufacturing settings (process development), Marketing (Brand Management, Commercial Development, Market Research) and Technology Management.  He brings with him extensive knowledge and experience in developing high-productivity sales and marketing teams, developing business processes, market assessment, competitive analysis and business modeling.

His primary strategic focus has been in catalyzing growth through internal initiatives as well as business and technology acquisition, licensing and partnerships.

Bob is a member of the American Chemical Association, TAPPI, American Management Association and The Commercial Development Association.  He holds a B.S. in Chemical Natural & Synthetic Polymer Chemistry from Syracuse University (SUNY) College of Environmental Science & Forestry.
